Updated @November 9, 2023
These guidelines show examples for how to implement requirements for providing alternative notification schedules.
Overview
Rule 4A.14(3) requires data holders to:
(a) provide for alternative notification schedules (including reducing the frequency of notifications or not receiving notifications) and
(b) give each joint account holder a means of selecting such an alternative, and of changing an election.
Alternative settings under 4A.14(3) only apply to the following notifications in 4A.14(1):
- The requester has given, amended, or withdrawn an authorisation
- Expiration of an authorisation
- A relevant account holder hasn’t given approval within a specified time frame
- A relevant account holder has withdrawn an approval
The guidelines in this section show examples for how to implement requirements for providing alternative notification schedules.
For further guidance, see ACCC's Revised joint account implementation guidance.
Wireframes and guidelines
Default example
The following wireframes show two example pathways for providing alternative notification schedules.
- In pathway 1, an account holder changes their joint account notification settings via the data holder settings options.
- In pathway 2, the relevant account holder (account holder B or AH-B) changes their joint account notification settings via an authorisation notification.
